For our Advanced Placement Language and Composition project about nature and the environment, we decided to research and report about the dangers of Scotch and French broom to raise awareness.
Scotch and French broom are invasive plants that endanger native species and pose serious fire hazards. As climate change makes California’s rainy season shorter and drier, wildfires are becoming more common in Marin County. The broom species can exacerbate the natural fires and cause thousands of dollars in damage.
